Alex Kelker
Junior, Track and Field
Alex was the leading Lakota West scorer, male or female, at the district track meet held at Winton Woods on Friday. He won the 1600 meter run, finished second at 800 meters, and ran a leg on the third-place 3200-meter relay team. Kelker qualified for next weeks regional competition in all three events. He was competing against athletes from sixteen schools.
Lauren Betz
Senior, Softball
Lauren became the first player in Lakota softball history to hit three home runs in a single game when she put three over the fence in a 13-2 win at Middletown-Madison on Wednesday. She also added a double making it 4 for 4 at the plate. This sure-handed centerfielder contributed to three Firebird wins last week including a district championship win over Springboro at Lakota East on Sunday.
