Carter Combs
Senior, Basketball

Carter played 36 grueling minutes, leading the Firebirds in scoring with 27 points as West beat Princeton in overtime at Hamilton to advance to the district finals. He was the only player on the court to play the entire 36 minutes and had a team high 4 assists as well. Earlier in the week he played a key role in West’s tournament win over Mason with a team high 5 assists to go with 12 points.

Julian Mackey
Senior, Basketball

Julian scored 34 points leading the Firebirds to a win over Mason to even the season series but more importantly to also give Lakota West their first advancement to the second round of the tournament in six years. In addition to being the Firebirds leading scorer he was also the leading rebounder. He poured in 16 points in West’s OT win over Princeton, and totaled a team high 50 points for the week.

Kylie Zurlinden
Senior, Basketball

Kylie registered a 13 point and 10 rebound double-double while helping West to power by Fairfield at Sycamore on Monday to reach the district final game. She was a starter in Saturday’s district championship game where the Firebird’s season ended. Over the past four years Zurlinden has played in 58 varsity game and this year has been a consistent starter as the Firebirds won the GMC championship title.
