    KK Mathis becomes New Home Run Queen in win over Mason!

    The Firebirds traveled to Mason high school for the highly anticipated game between two power house programs that have great respect for each other. West scored with a Kendall Forren sac fly scoring Belle Hummel in the first inning and an Ariah Peregrina solo homer in the fourth. Mathis hit a Grand Slam in the fifth to seal the win for the Firebirds. KK hit her 11th home run becoming the new single season home run leader in program history. Marisa Brown ’15 and Allie Cummins ’17 both held the record with 10 home runs in a season. KK now owns the record with 11 homers this season and she’s nudging her way to the all-time career record which is held by Allie Cummins ’17 with 26 career home runs.
