    Wrestling Victorious 51-32 Over Fairfield!

    The varsity wrestling team took the mat against the Indians of Fairfield on Saturday, and the home team did not disappoint. After a slow start and a 24-6 deficit, the Firebirds reeled off eight straight wins and never looked back. The final score was West 51 and Fairfield 32. Jeff Shultz, Micah Reynolds, Cory Whatley, and Zander Knollman picked up big wins. The team improves to 3-3 on the year. This weekend, they are back in action at Middletown High School for the Coaches Holiday Classic Tournament, where they will take on 37 of the area’s best schools.

    The junior varsity group competed at the Sycamore Invitational on Saturday and finished 6th place in the 22-team field. The group was led by Ujal Tamang (1st @190), Nathan Mobley (2nd @157), Nick Harris (2nd @Hwt), and Philip Lee (3rd @138). The junior varsity and freshmen team will travel to Colerain on Friday, December 16, to wrestle against Colerain, Sycamore, and Turpin.

    Our girls’ team will be back in action on December 22 when they head to Harrison to compete in the Shelly Ruberg Classic. The tournament will feature some of the best girls’ teams from around the state and also include top teams from Indiana and Tennessee!
