Evelyn’s winning time of 16:59.1 at the GMC Championships earned her the GMC Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year award. The second place runner in the field of 68 was not in site as she crossed the finish line. Her time was the fastest ever run by a girl over the Voice of America park course, the fastest ever run in the 41 years the GMC championships have been held, and believed to be the fastest girls high school time run in the state of Ohio. (The previous best was 16:59.8 posted in the 1996 state championship meet over the Scioto Downs course.)
Tyson Hagaman
Junior, Soccer
Tyson netted 2 goals in the 2-0 win over the Fairfield Indians this week, sealing the GMC title for the Firebirds for the first time since 2011. Tyson also scored a goal in the win over Princeton earlier in the week.
