- Updated: October 21, 2024

On Saturday, the Lakota West Boys’ and Girls’ Cross Country teams competed in the Southwest District Championships. While the boys fell short of qualifying, they turned in their best performance of the season, with each runner averaging a 15-second improvement in time. Carter Mang, Brylen Holden, Cole Shaffer, Rayn O’Connell, and Emilio Negroe led the way for the boys.
The girls’ team, however, dominated the competition, led by defending State Champion Evelyn Prodoehl, who won the race by a comfortable 20-second margin. Ava Shepherd also impressed, dropping 20 seconds to finish second overall. Kaitlin Kaszubski, Alyese Caldwell-Dowing, Prashi Vatsal, Myla Ludwig, and Addie Roehm contributed to the team’s victory, helping Lakota West claim the District Championship title.
