If you’re a student in grades 8–11 who will attend Lakota West High School next fall, now is the time to start your journey with Firebirds Athletics. Whether you’re chasing goals on the pitch or lining up the perfect swing, upcoming information meetings will give you everything you need to know about trying out for Fall 2026 teams.
⚽ Boys Soccer
Ready to compete, improve, and represent Lakota West on the field?
All interested players must attend the Men’s Soccer Player & Parent Information Meeting:📅 Tuesday, February 24

Boys Golf
The Lakota West Firebirds boys golf program is preparing for the upcoming season and has announced important information for student-athletes interested in trying out for the team this summer.
Tryouts will be held at Walden Ponds Golf Club during the week of July 27–31. The two-day tryout will feature a competitive format designed to evaluate players in a real match-style setting.
Tryout Format
Day 1: 9 holes
Day 2: 18 holes
Exact dates and tee times will be announced closer to the tryout week.
All participants must check in with Coach Nguyen at least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled tee time inside the clubhouse. During check-in, golfers will submit paperwork and receive their foursome assignments.
Registration Required
Any student-athlete planning to try out must email Coach Nguyen by July 1 to secure a tee time. Athletes should include their name, phone number, and grade when contacting the coach.

Participants must come prepared with the following:
Current physical and all FinalForms completed online through the Lakota West Athletics website
No physical = No tryout
Proper golf attire and soft spike shoes (players will walk both days)
Cash for greens fees each day
Water, drinks, and snacks
Demonstrate great sportsmanship, including replacing divots and fixing ball marks on the course
Tryouts will take place both days at Walden Ponds, the same course that hosts the Greater Miami Conference Championships, giving players the opportunity to compete on a championship-level layout.
The Firebirds look forward to welcoming the next group of golfers ready to represent Lakota West and continue the program’s tradition of excellence on the course.
