    Fishman’s program has the reigning consecutive GMC Championship record with 6 straight championships and over 10 seasons in the National Top 25 rankings by ESPN and USA Today. Lakota West has a 2015 State Championship during his tenure, three OHSAA Division 1 Final Four appearances: 2009 Final Four, and 2008 State Runner-Up, and his squads have seven Final 8 appearances, with ten trips to the State Sweet 16. Locally, our girls have 10 GMC championship titles, nine district championships, and have 20:24 seasons ranked among the top 10 in the greater Cincinnati area (Enquirer coaches’ poll). Currently, Coach Fishman’s public HS program development has produced over 50 girls moving to the collegiate level as players, some playing overseas, in the WNBA, and currently coaching in high school or college; his career won-lost record stands at 480-163 (74.7 win %, 1997-2023). After coaching JV, Freshman, and JHS at the Old Lakota HS. This is Fishman’s 27th season as Lakota West HS’s Head Coach, and he holds the distinction as the Lakota School Districts Head Basketball Coach with the most wins.

    Fishman is also a leader in youth basketball. He is the Ohio AAU Boys and Girls State Sport Director and is an elected official on the National AAU Girls Basketball Executive Committee as the Zone A Rep. Andy has taught special education for 34 years (four years in New York City Public) as well as at Lakota’s Liberty Junior, West Freshman Campus, and the old Lakota HS. He teaches at Lakota West since the school opened in 1997). He and his wife Felice have two daughters (Rylee class of 2010 and Blake 2015), who are graduates of Lakota West and were players on two of the Firebird’s final four teams. He also has a son, Tate who played for the boy’s at Lakota West graduating in 2020.
