Brad Gschwind begins his first year with Lakota West. He spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons serving as a volunteer assistant coach at Xavier. In 2014, the Musketeers posted a 30-29 overall record and advanced to the NCAA Regionals after capturing the Big East Conference tournament title with a 5-0 victory over Creighton. Xavier posted a 6-4 win over Clemson in the national tournament but dropped games to Vanderbilt and Oregon to end its postseason run.
Gschwind was then named the head coach for the Cincinnati Steam, a member of the Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League, and the team posted 21-19 record.
Gschwind has also served as an assistant coach for the Battle Creek Bombers and Madison Mallards in the Northwoods League after spending time as an undergraduate assistant with Miami (Ohio) in 2012.
Gschwind received his undergraduate degree in physical education in the spring of 2012 from Miami, where he was a four-year letter winner for the RedHawks in the infield. During his senior campaign in 2011, he batted .285 with nine doubles and four home runs. He drove in 38 runs and scored 29 times in 58 games.
Brad was induced to the Lakota Athletic Hall Of Fame and was a member of the 2007 State Championship Baseball Team at Lakota West.
