A chess competition consists of the top five players from each school competing in a single match. The chess season is comprised of 9 “regular” season matches against each team in the GMC. The chess season concludes with the GMC chess tournament which features five rounds of play based on a “Swiss pairing” system. These 5 rounds are added to the regular season total to calculate the final GMC standings.
