Steve began his coaching career as a high school pitching coach. Then he went on to be NCAA Baseball Umpire from 1993-1997. After starting a family and moving to the Lakota School district, Steve began coaching club soccer at the select/premier level in 2002 and concluded with his son’s U18 team in 2016. During that span, he also served as one of the founding board members of Cincinnati United (LSO Select and Lakota United). He has also coached for Lakota Thunderbirds (basketball), Lakota Tomahawks (football) and Lakota Sports Organization (soccer and baseball) in youth sports for his daughter and 2 sons. His daughter Elle played 4 years of soccer at West and was signed by Northern Kentucky University to play soccer on scholarship. His son Jack is a varsity letterman in soccer, football and basketball and holds numerous place kicking records at West. He served as a scholarship place kicker for Georgetown College from 2016-2019 before graduating in the spring of 2020. His youngest son, Will, is a varsity letterman in soccer, football, basketball and track at West. Will signed with Georgetown College to compete as a place kicker on scholarship for the fall of 2017. Steve is an avid golfer and has competed in 2 PGA Tour Pro-Am events as a sponsored amateur: Humana Challenge (formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic now known as the Career Builder Challenge) in 2012 and 2014, respectively. He currently resides in West Chester with his wife, Kym and 3 children. He served as a varsity assistant coach for the Firebirds men’s soccer team for 5 years 2012-2016. Steve is also currently a varsity assistant coach for the Firebirds baseball team.
